The Appendix is a crossbreed between a Thoroughbred and an American Quarter Horse, combining the best traits of both breeds. Known for its speed, athleticism, and versatility, the Appendix is particularly popular in both English and Western riding disciplines.These horses inherit the lean, tall, and refined characteristics of the Thoroughbred, making them excellent competitors in events like show jumping, eventing, and dressage. At the same time, they retain the Quarter Horse's muscular build, quick acceleration, and calm temperament, which make them well-suited for Western activities like barrel racing, roping, and ranch work.

Appendix horses typically stand between 15 and 17 hands high and are known for their well-balanced conformation, agility, and endurance. Their trainability, intelligence, and cooperative nature also make them popular for both competitive riders and recreational horse owners.
